What a time to be alive! If you follow The Beat on twitter you know half our tweets aren't about comics at all, but rather the chronicle of being a Mets fan, an activity that makes for years of sorrow and frustration capped by a year of joy every 15 years or so. Call it delayed gratification.

Rosarium Publishing is a small Washington, DC-based indie publisher that's been putting out some fine graphic novels, including Keef Cross's DayBlack, Jennifer Crute’s Jennifer’s Journal amd Micheline Hess’s Malice in Ovenland. As discussed in this Publishers Weekly profile last year, its very much focused on projects by and about POC creators. What I didn't know until I read this Indiegogo campaign is that Rosarium is funded mostly via publisher Bill Campbell's day job and run as print on demand basis. That's real passion and commitment.

Jeff Smith's much loved and award-festooned fantasy comic BONE wrapped up its story line 10 years ago. Since then Smith has moved on to other projects like RASL and the ongoing webcomic Tüki Save The Humans. Thus the announcement of a new Bone story -- one that takes place AFTER the main Bone storyline -- is pretty exciting news. Bone: Coda is described as a "completely superflous" story featuring the Bone cousins and Bartleby the Rat creature on the dangerous journey back to their home in Boneville.

Wonder Woman Earth One by Grant Morrison and Yanick Paquette has finally been published, after five or six years of behind the scenes delays. Reaction has been mixed, but the positive reviews have been strong, showing that Morrison may just have negotiated The Most Dangerous Job On Earth, namely writing Wonder Woman in a highly problematic atmosphere.
