Surprise! It's Shia LaBeouf and his girlfriend Karolyn Pho, who handles the business side of LaBeouf's Campaign Book comics publishing company. LaBeouf is making a Lars Von Trier film called Nymphomaniac which may require him to film actual sex acts, which is a step up from the torture and blinding and other miseries which actors in von trier films must often endure. Whatever happens, we're sure Shia will make a comic about it.

So, I finally saw THE DARK KNIGHT RISES...yes, yes I know. In my defense, I tried seeing it twice and it was sold out and then I had a hard time finding three spare hours. And also...well, I'm not the biggest fan of the Nolan Batman trilogy. I get why it is so beloved and all, but the filmmaking is often sloppy to my tastes. (The horrible sound editing in DKR being one example.) Anyway, I did enjoy it, even though it was so lax in its storytelling. And I kept getting distracted by things. Like Catwoman's high heels. As soon as she appeared, I wondered "How is she running in those high heels?" And as if to answer my question, some hapless gunsel asks the same question in the film and Catwoman shows that they are really fearsome weapons. Got it.

At number two, Will Farell and Zach Galifianakis star in The Campaign. When your political farce debuts at roughly the same time the Vice-Presidential is announced, you had really good scheduling.

While you often see comics getting optioned for film or TV, you don't usually see the creators of the comic involved in working on that project for film or TV. So here's an exception: Dennis Calero and Todd Stashwick are writing a sci-fi pilot called CLANDESTINE for Syfy. Calero is best known as an artist on countless comics from COWBOYS & ALIENS to X-MEN NOIR. Stashwick is best known as a actor on things from Heroes to The Riches. The two met on the set of HEROES, when Calero was doing art for the show and collaborated on the webcomic Devil Inside, which was optioned by Syfy and eventually led to them being assigned to write the pilot for this entirely new project.
