The Legend of Zelda: Hyrule Historia
a Dark Horse published compilation of notes, artwork and even a comic about the Nintendo classic, which hasn’t even been released yet has, for the moment anyway, displaced the juggernaut 50 Shades of Grey atop Amazon’s bestseller list.
The Zelda book will be out in January and contains histories, timelines, and other information on Link’s world of Hyrule. Co-created by legendary game designer Shigeru Miyamoto, the Zelda franchise has sold more than 67 million copies since it debuted in 1986.
50 Shades of Grey is the erotic ebook sensation that also contains links—in chains of love. Exploring themes of bondage and submission, it has “dominated” the book selling charts—and created a mild sensation since its release in April.
Our takeaway? If there is one force that can overcome the libidinous yearnings of bored women, it is the nostalgic cravings of Gen Xers.
Clearly it’s time for someone to dig out their Link/Zelda fanfic and publish it.
The Legend of Zelda is still a quality and relevant franchise in gaming .The last Zelda game – 2011’s Skyward Sword – has an aggregated Metascore of 93%.
Every major Zelda game experiments with a different art style and all of them have great art direction.
A Zelda art book is long overdue and I am not surprised it is so popular. It’s success is well deserved.
No more of that crappy lying british junk that no one liked or read. I’ll buy that.
