Continuing the parade of 90s media giants coming back to life, Dark Horse has just announced a team up with Crystal Dynamics™, a Square Enix® for TOMB RAIDER: The Beginning, a prequel to the upcoming Tomb Raider video game reboot due March 5. A 48-page hardcover, “TOMB RAIDER: The Beginning,” was written by lead game writer Rhianna Pratchett, lead game writer for TOMB RAIDER, with art by Nichola Daniel Sela, and Andrea Mutti, if the poster is to be believed. The cover art is by Tomb Raider art director Brian Horton.

After our mentioning how much the world needs the return of NFL Superpro just the other day, a well-sourced rumor claims that NFL Superpro may make an appearance in Action Lab's new NFL RUSH ZONE comics.

In case you missed last night's PBS documentary on Superheroes, you can watch it above—or at this link if the embed isn't working. The program includes Wizard World all-star festival of folks like Lou Ferrigno, Burt Ward, Adam West and Lynda Carter talking about playing superheroes. They are all veteran charmers, and when we have a spare 53 minutes, we plan on watching the whole thing. Lots of news emerged from Warner Bros. yesterday besides getting a new CEO. On the most germane to our continuing investigations, Amazon, the Wonder Woman pilot being scripted by Allan Heinberg, has been put on hold for a while. It hasn't been killed, but it "needs more time." On the plus side, an off-season pilot may be ordered so it can go in as a midseason replacement. On the non-plussed side it's yet ANOTHER superhero project that WB has put on hold or dithered over or fretted about.

Short version, the last remaining book retail giant plans to close as many as a third of its stores over a 10-year period—although that may be an optimistic projection, as well. Slowed by the rise of digital and a lack of new malls, B&N oipened only two stores in the last fiscal year, and it's end of year profits were well below what was expected. While the Nook ereaders has been a bright spot, sales there have slowed as well. So a leaner meaner BN seems to be in the cards.
