As posted by Torsten earlier, the floor map for SDCC is up....OMG IT'S SO SOON. Seriously I barely got my seedlings for Arbor day and we're planning Hall H already? You can compare the floor map to one from 2011 in this post. I never throw out a pdf! Pretty much the same.

CAKE Chicago report: perhaps 5000 people attended

It's a little hard to find concrete reports from indie shows these days unless Secret Acres or Robyn Chapman post reports, from the social media, looks like CAKE Chicago this weekend was a successful indie show. I've heard mixed reports on sales in past years, but based on the "haul photos" I've seen, a lot of comics were purchased. I dug up a few more concrete reports:

If Special Edition: NYC was a comic book, probably Warren Ellis would have written it and Brandon Graham or Geof Darrow would have drawn it. It was a perfectly fine show, with a great guest list and good time, but the venue, Pier 92, was...picturesque. I was last there five or six years ago for a Wizard show and in the intervening years it became even more decrepit, with plastic bags collecting yellowing rainwater, as giant air ducts throbbed like the Alien Queen's thorax, and damn river air curled pages and hair. I had a perfectly good time (I was only there on Saturday) and here are the pictures!
