Jai Nitz and Tom Reilly’s Astro Hustle is due out from Dark Horse in a few short weeks. To prepare for the debut of the miniseries, the publisher has provided The Beat with an exclusive character profile of Captain Igor Roberts. A galactic lawman who enjoys his job perhaps a little too much, Roberts is a long-time thorn in the side of series hero Chen Andalou.

Here’s how Dark Horse describes Astro Hustle:

Chen Andalou, the black sheep of a prominent activist family, returns after being accidentally put in cryo-stasis for sixty years. Chen, a cosmic criminal, wakes up to find his younger brother is now the President of the Galaxy. Chen does what he knows best: he steals stuff and causes a problem.

The first issue of Astro Hustle is fantastic fun, with strong world-building and characterization from Nitz and top-notch art from Reilly and colorist Ursula Decay. Captain Igor Roberts immediately makes an impression as a real pain in the ass, so it should be fun to watch Chen give him no end of grief over the course of the series.

You can check out a Nitz-written bio for the character, as well as exclusive character art by Reilly, below. Astro Hustle #1 hits stores on March 6th.

Captain Igor RobertsGalaxy Law changes as often as Galactic Regimes. Legal today is illegal tomorrow and vice versa. What kind of man wears a badge in the most lawless quadrant of the galaxy? A man driven by an all-consuming desire to punish punks and scumbags. And if he can punish a scumbag punk who got away from him sixty years ago? And if that punkbag is named Chen Andalou, blacksheep son of pain-in-the-butt journalist Brice Andalou? ALL THE BETTER.
