Filming on season three of Daredevil: Born Again is currently underway, and paparazzi photos courtesy of Getty Images have revealed yet another actor from the Netflix incarnation of the show will return for the Disney+ series. As always, spoilers for both the next season, and what’s happened on the show so far, after the jump.
The images reveal the return of Elodie Yung as Daredevil/Matt Murdock’s old flame Elektra Natchios. Yung, 45, previously played the role on season two of Netflix’s Daredevil, and The Defenders miniseries, from 2016 to 2017. The character was last seen on the latter ascending to become the leader of the evil ninja group the Hand, and seemingly dying with Matt as the Hand’s excavation site caved in around them.
Yung, whose schedule was recently freed up by the end of her Fox series The Cleaning Lady (2022-25), was photographed wearing a costume resembling a blend between those she wore on the previous shows; it also includes the addition of a comics-inspired headband. It remains to be seen why Elektra will resurface in Matt’s life, although his decision to reveal his identity to the public in the second season finale, and his subsequent incarceration, may have a big reason to do with it.

Daredevil: Born Again season three previously had paparazzi reveal the return of Mike Colter as Luke Cage, and Finn Jones as Danny Rand/Iron Fist. Colter has already reappeared on the finale of the second season, which revealed Luke and Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter) had a daughter named Danielle in the interim, while Iron Fist’s return remains unconfirmed by Marvel Television. In any case, the show will return sometime around March 2027.
In the meantime, the Hand are seemingly set to return in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, along with Jon Bernthal‘s Punisher (who also made his MCU debut on Daredevil season two), in theaters on July 31. Over on Disney+, Marvel’s next series, X-Men ’97 season two, will premiere with three (of nine) episodes on Wednesday, July 1, and the next MCU show, VisionQuest, will premiere on October 14.
And in further Daredevil news this week, Marvel announced they will celebrate the success of Stephanie Phillips and Lee Garbett‘s new comics series with a reprint of the first three issues, featuring Born Again-themed cover art. The series has so far sold a total of over 500,000 copies. They will be released on July 29, shortly after issue #4 hits stores on July 8. Check out the covers below:
