Disney launches toyetic shonen Avengers cartoon in Japan
The main reason Disney acquired Marvel was to finally break open the boy market bank, and their simple plan worked pretty well. They're even conquering Japan, it was just announced, with "the first Japanese Marvel animated television series targeted at boys." It's called Marvel Disk Wars: The Avengers. "Disk" wars, eh That sound highly, highly toyetic.

IDW opens a TV division as sales grow by 35%
While IDW's flag was planted by the film adaptation of 30 Days of Night, since then they've been more in the licensed comics business, with a few hits like Locke and Key, which bounced around the development wheels of Hollywood. Well, looking to be more proactive, they're opening a TV division, the LA Times reports. David Ozer, formerly of Starz Media and an executive producer on The Walking Dead, will run the division, called IDW Entertainment
