Earlier this week, Variety Fair offered new details of the upcoming Marvel Studios Secret Invasion Disney+ original series. Starring Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, the series is inspired by the 2008 comic storyline about a faction of shape-shifting Skrulls who have been infiltrating Earth for years. Premiering in June, Marvel has released a new Secret Invasion trailer.

In addition to Jackson, Ben Mendelsohn is reprising his role as the Skrull Talos. New characters include Gravik, played by Kingsley Ben-Adir, described as a “leader of a group of rebel Skrulls who has broken away from Talos’ faction, believing the best way to help their kind is to infiltrate Earth for the resources they need.” Secret Invasion will also feature Olivia Colman as Sonya Falsworth, a high-ranking MI6 officer and old ally of Fury. Any Marvel fan worth their salt know that the Falsworth family is associated with a number of heroes and villains in the Marvel Universe including Spitfire, Union Jack and Baron Blood. We’ll have to wait and see if the Marvel Cinematic Universe is introducing any of those characters. Meanwhile, Emilia Clarke plays as G’iah, the daughter of Talos, first introduced as a young child in Captain Marvel. Early speculation assumed that Clark would be portraying fan-favorite character Abigail Brand but clearly that wasn’t the case.

Other returning MCU mainstays include Cobie Smulders as Maria Hill, Don Cheadle as James “Rhodey” Rhodes and Martin Freeman as Everett K. Ross. When we last saw Ross in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, he was arrested by his ex-wife Valentina Allegra de Fontaine only to be freed by his Wakandan friends and allies.

Though not featured in the Secret Invasion trailer, apparently the series will introduce the the current United States President in the MCU played by Dermot Mulroney.

In addition Marvel Studios also released a new promo poster
