HeyUGuys scans in the new issue of Empire and gets some new images of Chris Hemsworth as Thor. He's no Alexander Skarsgard, but we guess he'll do. The film has an innovative plot, as well, as Thor and his evil brother Loki (played by Tom Hiddleston) must team up to defeat the sinister menace of The Boom Mike.

So it's Zack Snyder who's been tapped to direct the next Superman movie. Evidently, the vacation Snyder took directing a movie about feisty little owls wearing helmets put him back in the mood for a comic book movie, following 300 and WATCHMEN.

These are not necessarily titles I will purchase, but which I will definitely look at once they arrive at my local comics shop or bookstore.

How many Dabel brothers are there? While Les and Ernst are familiar from their various imprints at publishers around town, there's also Pascal and David Dabel, and they have launched their own publishing house called Sea Lion Press, which is set to publish YA books by well-known authors including Paulo Coelho, Richelle Mead and Richard A. Knaak. They'll be at New York Comic-Con to promote a new series of comics based on Mead's bestselling Dark Swan series, starting with STORM BORN, the story of freelance shaman Eugenie Markham, who fights strange creatures from a place called the Otherworld. Mead is also the author of the bestselling Vampire Academy books, for those without access to a teen-age reader.

The folks at Penny Arcade are running "Rob Liefeld Pose" * contest to promote the Liefeld inspired video game Comic Jumper. And artist Rob Liefeld entered it himself.

Experimental, award-winning cartoonist Dash Shaw is obsessed with the reality show Blind Date. Don't ask why -- it just is.

Somehow or other we just stumbled across this blog by Hungarian cartoonist Attila Futaki whose comics adaptation of the immensely popular Percy Jackson & the Olympians, Book One: The Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan just came out. There are quite a few of these YA novel to graphic novel conversions going on, but Futaki's art is a lot nicer than it has to be. The final version is colored by José Villarrubia and looks even better.

Note: We thought this interview with Feige on the occasion of the IRON MAN 2 Blu-ray release was incredibly long and unfocused and couldn't believe he or his secretary took all the time to answer the questions, but turns out it was a ROUNDTABLE. That makes more sense. .
