INTERVIEW: Brian K. Vaughan on the first SAGA collection

23
In the annals of "very safe predictions" the idea that the first collection of SAGAis going to sell very well is right up there. The book—collecting the first six issues of the science fiction drama by Brian K. Vaughan and Fiona Staples—isn't out until October 23rd, but it's certain to get a whole new audience for the book. Not that it's been lacking an audience: the first issue already has already sold over 70,000 copies in various printings. And a low $9.99 price tag makes the barrier to entry pretty low.

The Increasingly Blurred Line Between DC and Vertigo

I'll grant you Morrison does a little more superhero work (pun intended), but it was noticeable and a lot of people thought that Animal Man and Swamp Thing were really Vertigo books that just happened to play in the superhero world.

DC announces Superman crossover; H'el on Earth

20
We knew the crossovers were coming, but as things go, this one sounds fairly modest -- a mere three-issue tale spanning Supers Man, Boy and Girl as they face the menace of the shirtless, alien terror, H'el, who is so horrible he wears his cape around his waist like a skirt. Sounds pretty basic and maybe even jumponable? Going by the cover art, though, it looks like some injury-to-the-arm is headed our way.
