In the last few weeks, DC Universe Infinite and Sweet Shop made moves to grow their digital comics library offerings in an effort to cement their places at the top of the digital comics landscape. Since the fall of Comixology as the premier digital comics service, both publisher and third party platforms have tried to carve out their place in the void left behind. As the digital comics wars rage on, let’s take a look at what’s going on in the world of digital comics.
DC Universe Infinite adds new graphic novel line to digital offerings
At the end of 2024, DC Comics launched the DC Finest line of trade paperbacks as a direct response to Marvel’s Epic Collection line with both lines being comprehensive, completionist-focused, and collecting eras chronologically. Recently, DC announced that their digital subscription service, DC Universe Infinite, would be expanding their offerings to include the DC Finest collections. Not only are digital single issues available to Ultra tier subscribers one month after release, but they also gain access to a library of digital collected editions. DCUI’s inclusion of these collections is significant for digital comics readers as many of them include material never before made available digitally. These are the collections released in this initial wave, with more rolling out through the summer:

- DC Finest: Supergirl: The Girl of Steel
- DC Finest: Superboy: The Superdog from Krypton
- DC Finest: Science Fiction: The Gorilla World
- DC Finest: Horror: The Devil’s Doorway
- DC Finest: Supergirl: Die and Let Live
Ignition Press joins the Sweet Shop marketplace
In the arena of third party digital platforms, the name of the game is bringing publishers to your storefront and the to-be-released platform, Sweet Shop, just added one more to their lineup. At the end of 2025, Sweet Shop began a closed beta test which offered 24 publishers at launch, which included Ignition. Last week, however, the publisher announced their titles would finally be Day-and-Date on the platform. Sweet Shop is a digital comics platform created by Kenny Meyers, with a selection of indie publishers and the only platform to offer Image releases Day-and-Date. While Sweet Shop is still in a state of rolling Early Access, this will be the first time Ignition Press books are sold digitally. Users can join the waitlist here.
