Darn you, Kevin Feige! Chris Evans and Robert Downey Jr. made a surprise appearance on the Disney-owned Jimmy Kimmel Live and debuted a new Marvel movie trailer. And although the creaky plot machinations of Avengers: Age of Ultron weren’t exactly thrilling, the new trailer for May’s Captain America: Civil War has enough going on to drag you back into the interconnected world of the MCU. Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, the film is loosely based on the Civil War storyline from the comics, written by Mark Millar and drawn by Steven McNiven. And there’s enough grim faced tension and fisticuffs to last all the way to May. Plus…

Black Panther! Chadwick Boseman debuts as the iconic character and we get our first good look at his new costume.

Also…Bucky, War Machine, Falcon, William Hurt as Thunderbolt Ross, Black Widow, and Tony Stark. Not pictured; The Vision, Scarlet Witch and…Spider-Man. The storyline seems to involve growing suspicion over superheroes after the carnage of A:AOU, and Captain America and Iron Man coming to actual blows as Cap stands up for his old pal Bucky even though he’s now the murderous Winter Soldier.

  1. Uhhh…when did the public start seeing Cap as a vigilante? Maybe the new movie will answer that question, but that’s quite a leap.

  2. Just curious, if modern CGI could turn buff Chris Evans into puny Steve Rogers, do you think they are using CGI give Chris Evans John Buscema-arms?

  3. Immediate first impressions…. As Cap’s team breaks into a charge in the parking lot “GIVE US BACK OUR BALL!!”

And the end fight sequence with the Caps and Iron Man, I beg someone more technically savvy than I to set this fight to “It Takes Two”, the moves match the beat perfectly.

Otherwise, very excited to see the Panther, and really impressed how Cap centric it seemed.

  4. I hate how people glorify Kevin Feige. Many think Marvel model should be followed by mainstream but it’s too far from truth. Pixar is the real thing, it’s the model Hollywood should follow. However, to follow Pixar steps are necessary talent and creativity and to follow Marvel steps you don’t need to be creative or talented.

  5. In Civil War Captain America and the Avengers protect the world, but they divided into two teams. Its looks interesting how they protect the world! Let’s see how iron man and captain America team save the world.
