We Only Find Them When They’re Dead debuted its first issue just last week and it’s already a major hit. The sci- fi epic is penned by Al Ewing (Immortal Hulk), drawn by Simone Di Meo (Mighty Morphin Power Rangers), colored by Mariasara Miotti and lettered by AndWorld Design; and it follows a crew of refugees on the hunt for a living god. The Beat has an exclusive first look at the We Only Find Them When They’re Dead #2, courtesy of BOOM!, in which Captain Malik and the Vihaan II make a major realization – and a title drop.

Captain Malik is hopeful that the bodies he’s spent so long mining are the key to his freedom, so he and his team set out to find one before – well, you know. Check out the series’ description below, then keep scrolling for cover art, and your first look at 5 pages of We Only Find Them When They’re Dead #2, out October 7 from your local comic shop.
“Captain Malik and the crew of the Vihaan II harvest resources from the giant corpses of alien gods found on the edge of human space. While other autopsy ships race to salvage the meat, minerals, and metals that sustain the human race, Malik sees an opportunity to finally break free from this system by being the first to find a living god. But Malik’s obsession with the gods will push his crew into danger at the darkest reaches of space and face — unless the rogue agent on their trail can stop them first…”
