Valiant Comics has a new sci-fi epic in the worksRAI, written by Dan Abnett (Guardians of the Galaxy) and illustrated by Juan José Ryp (X-O MANOWAR), takes place in the 41st century and follows the eponymous cyborg samurai as he embarks on a quest to save the future. The journey will introduce new worlds, new characters and new adventures.

“It’s got a blend of action, sci-fi, a little horror and a lot of character. I think it’s a very distinctive book that has its own special feel,” Abnett said in a statement. He added that it’s “the perfect place to join in if you’re a new reader and you want to find out why people are raving about Valiant books.”

Ryp said in a statement, “Everything is part of a great puzzle! The story surprises me by its crazy coherence. It is magnificent!”

Finally, editor Lysa Hawkins said, “Quite honestly, I feel like we hit the jackpot. I challenge anyone to read this book and tell me differently.”

RAI debuts November 2. In addition to Abnett and Ryp, the series also features Andrew Dalhouse (The Flash) on colors and Dave Sharpe (X-O MANOWAR) on letters. Ryp, Adam Pollina (Fallen World), and José Ladrönn (Planet Hulk) will provide covers.
