§ John Carpenter et al.’s new graphic novel Cathedral will be accompanied by a heavy metal score album, featuring longtime musical collaborators Cody Carpenter (his son, on synths) and Daniel Davies (on guitar). The book, due out from Storm King Comics on August 4, follows a murder investigation at a seemingly abandoned church in downtown Los Angeles. The album will follow on August 7, and you can pre-order or pre-save it here. In the meantime, you can listen to the first released track above.
§ Via Daily Dead, BOOM! Studios revealed The Cat in the Coffin, a new Stuff of Nightmares one-shot by R.L. Stine and Matthew Dunn, out August 19. The adult-aimed, horror comic follows a financially desperate man who becomes cursed after breaking two promises to his late mother: to bury her with her stuffed cat, and to care for her three living ones. It will be released on August 19. It marks the fourth Stuff of Nightmares release, following the original series from 2022, and two more one-shots the following year.

§ Papercutz announced Undercover Monster, a middle-grade graphic novel written by A.C. Medina and Mina Elwell (Hellicious), with art by Kit Wallis (Monster Club). Out August 11, the book follows a monster girl who’s enrolled in a human school after being repeatedly expelled from ones for monsters. While there, she must unmask another monster “who has infiltrated this school and started picking the human kids off as prey.”
Papercutz also revealed Emily Kado & the Spiders’ Secret, a spooky middle-grade title by Antoine Dodé (the Percy Jackson graphic novels), translated by Joe Johnson, and lettered by Dave Sharpe. The book follows a girl who discovers her best friend missing, and that her home is being occupied by spiders and clowns. However, “she is joined by a new, helpful insect friend,” and “with his help and that of her special witch costume, Emily finds the courage to confront her fears.” It will also be released on August 11.
§ Sony and Prime Video released a final trailer for Spider-Noir. The series will premiere Monday, May 25, on MGM+, before dropping in its entirety (in black-and-white and color) on Prime two days later. (You can also watch the color version of the trailer here.)
§ Amazon MGM, meanwhile, released the final trailer for the new Masters of the Universe movie, hitting theaters on June 5.
§ Finally, Netflix released the trailer for season two of Avatar: The Last Airbender. Based on the same season of the original Nickelodoen cartoon, the second season of the live-action adaptation will arrive on Thursday, June 25. You can also watch an audio described version here.
