Clover Press has announced it is bringing a faithful graphic novel adaptation of F. Scott Fitzgerald‘s The Great Gatsby to Kickstarter, where backers can also support their local libraries and schools in addition to the project. The Kickstarter will launch soon, so sign up through this link to be notified about when The Great Gatsby graphic novel adaptation officially launches!

Ted Adams (Diablo House, The Island of Dr. Moreau) and Jorge Coelho (Rocket Racoon, Time Before Time) are bringing the “Great American Novel” to life, and they have worked hard to create an adaptation that captures the original work’s beauty and power. “With stunning illustrations and compelling storytelling, including passages utilizing Fitzgerald’s own words, this adaptation will surely delight fans of the book and newcomers alike,” says Clover Press.

Adams & Coelho’s book is the latest graphic novel adaptation of Fitzgerald’s iconic novel. Other adaptations include Aya MortonFred Fordham‘s 2020 version from Scribner Books, K. Woodman-Maynard‘s 2021 version from Candlewick Press, and Vincent Cecil‘s Webtoon series, The Great Gatsby: Among the Ash Heaps and Millionaires, among many others.

The Great Gatsby is a novel that has captivated readers for generations. Its characters, plot, and setting are vividly imagined and perfectly executed. The book is a testament to the power of literature to transport us to another time and place and to capture the essence of the human experience. Furthermore, Gatsby’s library is one of the central symbols of Fitzgerald’s quintessential novel. Thus, the decision by Clover Press to pair this campaign with rewards tiers that allow the backer to support a library ties nicely with the book’s themes.

Clover Press encourages backers to support their local libraries and schools by ordering one copy for themselves and one (or more) for a library or classroom of their choice. In addition to the standard tier that includes one copy of the hardcover book for $25, the publisher is offering backers the option to choose from two special tiers that will put this book in the hands of today’s readers and library patrons!

Here’s how Clover Press describes the special tiers:

Library/School donation reward tier — back this book and also purchase an additional copy to donate to a library or classroom of your choice, or donate copies to Reader to Reader, a non-profit organization that puts books in libraries and classrooms in under-resourced areas.

Classroom reward tier — Deep discount for educators to stock classrooms with 36 copies of this classic American book. Plus, get a 30-minute classroom zoom call with adaptation writer Ted Adams! Is purchasing for your school complicated? Contact us directly at [email protected]

Clover Press is asking for your support to help us bring this project to fruition. By pledging now, you will be among the first to receive a copy of this stunning hardcover edition. You will also be helping to ensure that literature and art continue to thrive and inspire for generations to come!
