Do I really need to say any more? After more than a year, a new issue of Love and Rockets: New Stories is coming out in a few weeks. While everyone else is popping the champagne, I’ll celebrate by running the nine page preview of new work by the incomparable Gilbert and Jaime Hernandez.

Doralis by the tree.
It’s really pretty impressive how Beto’s built up the narrative shorthand of what that tree represents. I distinctly remember that moment where Tonantzin appeared next to it and the sudden feeling of dread it brought to the pit of my stomach.
That said, I’m a lot more interested in Maggie and Ray right now. Good to see them back after a bit of a break.
What’s the deal with the balloon boobs? Inside joke of some sort?
Since Jaime and Gllbert have demonstrated the ability to draw just about any female body-type on the planet, they’re uniquely qualified to draw balloon-boobs.
