Image Comics has announced Local Man, a new series from writer/artists Tony Fleecs and Tim Seeley. The new series, on which Fleecs and Seeley are joined by colorists Brad Simpson, Felipe Sobreiro, and Brian Reber, follows a disgraced former superhero who becomes embroiled in a mystery after moving back home.
Here’s how Image describes Local Man:
Once the star recruit of the media sensation super-team Third Gen, Jack “Crossjack” Xaver had it all. But when controversy sends him crawling back to his mom and dad’s basement in the Midwest, Jack struggles to fit into a world he left far behind. And then the bodies start piling up.
Local Man is presented in a flipbook style, with one side of the issue, illustrated by Fleecs and Simpson, following Jack in the present and the other side, illustrated by Seeley and Sobreiro, following his past adventures as a superhero. In announcing the book, Seeley and Fleecs described their approach to the series:
