Back in 2024, Warner Bros. announced details for Get Jiro, an adult animated series  based on The New York Times bestselling DC/Vertigo graphic novels by writers Anthony Bourdain and Joel Rose with artwork by Langdon Foss and Alé Garza. Set to premiere on October 3 on Adult Swim, today not only was the first Get Jiro trailer unveiled but also more details including voice cast.

The voice cast of Get Jiro includes Brian Tee as the titular chef as well as including Titus Welliver, Alison Pill, and Justin Kirk in undisclosed roles. The animated series was developed by Brian Gatewood and Alessandro Tanaka. Executive producers are Tanaka, Gatewood, Jordan Blum, and Sam Register.

In a Deadline exclusive, creator Alessandro Tanaka teased what to expect from the series

“Everybody’s needs are being met digitally, whether it’s sex or travel, you can put on goggles and go anywhere, but the one thing you cannot do is eat and taste food, and because of that, chefs have become the most powerful people in Los Angeles.

They’re like gangsters as they take each other out. The comic starts where this mysterious Japanese sushi chef (Jiro) lands in Los Angeles, and he starts playing everyone against each other. As the series continues, we see that there’s a whole method to his madness, and the entire thing is like him creating a recipe for the grand finale. A lot of food, mayhem and violence happens.”

In trying to honor the legacy of the late Anthony Bourdain, the show’s creators enlisted Matt Goulding, a coworker and a very good friend of Bourdain’s, as a consult to read scripts and watch the animation.

Fans attending New York Comic Con in October will definitely want to be sure to check out the Get Jiro panel on taking place on October 10th at 6:45pm in North-Room 409.
