There have been a handful of comics biographies of Josephine Baker. Catel & Bocquet made a long (close to 500 pages!) biography of Josephine Baker back in 2017 and one Penelope Bagieu’s biographies in Brazen: Rebel Ladies Who Rocked The World focused on her last year. It was nice to see American cartoonist extraordinaire Bianca Xunise tackle the story of Josephine Baker in such a succinct and concise way. Xunise manage to distills the long history of Baker’s life into a few cohesive page. It serve as a really good primer on this icon and delivered in the lovely art style of Xunise.
