You didn’t think the Substack announcements were over after last week, did you? Today writer Donny Cates and artist Ryan Stegman announced the debut of KLC Press, a new Substack imprint for creator-owned work from the pair. Also revealed were three new titles that will be hosted on the platform: Vanish, the latest collaboration between Cates and Stegman; Flood, written by Cates, illustrated by Megan Hutchison-Cates, colored by Dee Cunniffe, and lettered by John J. Hill; and the return of The One You Feed by Cates and Dylan Burnett. Only the full creative team for Flood was listed in the announcement.

Vanish, the first creator-owned collaboration between Cates and Stegman and the first creator-owned project ever for Stegman, is described by the artist as being “about magic and superheroes,” though beyond that and the art shown above no other information about the story or length was included in the announcement about the series.

Cates describes the six-issue Flood as an “underwater horror/western.” Again, no additional information about the story or characters was included.

The One You Feed initially launched with one issue released on Panel Syndicate last year. The series, now six issues, was described this way at the time:

One day, long ago, and for no reason whatsoever..the moon rose in the night sky, and every human being on the planet began to violently change into the demons that live inside of their souls. Some of these monsters were good. Most…were not. Now, after hundreds of years of these nightly horrors, a young prince, armed only with a mysterious sword named Attum, must journey into the night to face the monsters under the stars, and meet the wolf that lives in his own heart.

As with most of the other Substack announcements, Cates and Stegman’s will offer three tiers of paid access, with the lowest offering regular newsletters and access to the digital comics “as they’re produced,” and higher-tiers including physical copies of both standard and Substack-exclusive variant covers, the opportunity to buy exclusive merchandise, and more.

In an interview with Newsarama about the new imprint, Cates said that all three series will eventually see a print release from Image Comics.

Vanish and KLC Press are the latest collaboration between Cates and Stegman, who are coming off of a successful run on Marvel’s Venom series and a pair of event titles spinning out of that book, Absolute Carnage and The King in Black.

No word yet on when the first issues of Vanish or Flood will release. The first issue of The One Who Feeds is no longer available on Panel Syndicate, so it seems likely that will be rereleased through the Substack any day now.
