Just ahead of the release his much-anticipated Image Comics series Crossover next week, writer Donny Cates launched a new digital series that made a surprise debut today on Panel Syndicate, the digital publisher of creator-owned titles using the pay-what-you-want model. Just in time for Halloween, The One You Feed is a 5-issue fantasy terror. Joining Cates are artist Dylan Burnett, colorist Dean White, and letterer/designer John H. Hill. Cates and Burnett previously collaborated together on the Cosmic Ghost Rider miniseries
As Cates told THR:
“It’s really my way of giving back to the community that has supported me for so many years,” Cates said of the title’s launch. “2020 sucks, here’s a comic that you don’t have to pay for if you can’t afford it.”
It’s also worth noting that the series is also set in the same world of God Country, the Image Comics series Cates created with artist Geoff Shaw.
