Today courtesy of an exclusive from THR, the details including voice cast for Catwoman: Hunted, an upcoming DC animated film, were revealed. Produced in an anime style, Hunted sees Catwoman in the midst of a jewel heist that puts her in the crosshairs of villains, Interpol, and even Batwoman.
Voicing Catwoman is Elizabeth Gillies while Batwoman will be played by Brooklyn Nine-Nine actress Stephanie Beatriz. The rest of the voice cast includes other notable performers including Jonathan Banks as Black Mask, Steve Blum as Solomon Grundy, Lauren Cohan as Julia Pennyworth, Keith David as Tobias Whale, Zehra Fazal as Talia al Ghul & Nosferata, Jonathan Frakes as King Faraday & Boss Moxie, Kirby Howell-Baptiste as Barbara Minerva/Cheetah, Kelly Hu as Cheshire, Andrew Kishino as Mr. Yakuza & Domino 6, Eric Lopez as Domino 1, Jacqueline Obradors as La Dama, and Ron Yuan as Doctor Tzin.
Young Justice fans will definitely recognize a few familiar names such as Steve Blum, Keith David, Zehra Fazal, Kelly Hu, and Eric Lopez. In fact, Hu is reprising the same character, Chesire, that she voices in YJ. Fazal meanwhile, previously first voiced Talia al Ghul in the Batman: Death in the Family interactive movie last year.
It probably doesn’t come as a surprise then that the script for Catwoman: Hunted is by Young Justice co-producer Greg Weisman. Moreover, Jonathan Frakes, best known for his role as William T. Riker in the Star Trek franchise, is no stranger to Weisman fans having voiced David Xanatos in the acclaimed Gargoyles animated series.
Shinsuke Terasawa is directing. Ethan Spaulding produces, along with Colin A.B.V. Lewis. Sam Register executive produces.
According to THR, Catwoman: Hunted is expected to be released in early 2022. Keep an eye out for details!
