The Hollywood Reporter states Heated Rivalry star Connor Storrie is in talks to join the MCU’s Ghost Rider reboot, in the role of an undisclosed villain. The movie, starring Ryan Gosling, and directed by Shawn Levy, is set to begin filming in New York next year, for a release on July 28, 2028.

Possible roles for Storrie, 26, include the demon Blackheart, the son of Mephisto (played by Sacha Baron Cohen on Ironheart), or the half-human demon Daimon Hellstrom/Hellstorm. Wes Bentley played Blackheart in the 2007 Ghost Rider movie starring Nicolas Cage, while Tom Austen portrayed Daimon on the 2020 Hulu series Helstrom.

It is also possible Storrie may be playing Danny Ketch, the second Ghost Rider, in an antagonistic role. It has been widely assumed Gosling is playing Johnny Blaze, the first incarnation of the Spirit of Vengeance, and Ketch’s brother, although this hasn’t been officially confirmed yet. That character was previously portrayed as a child by Fergus Riordan in the 2011 film sequel Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance.

If cast, the film will continue a meteoric rise for Storrie, who broke out last year with the first season of the queer, Canadian hockey romance series Heated Rivalry. As well as the upcoming second season, his next projects include Sarah Polley‘s adaptation of The Bell Jar, and his directorial debut Transaction Planet. Incidentally, he played the “true” Joker in 2024’s Joker: Folie à Deux, who kills Joaquin Phoenix‘s incarnation at the end of the film.

THR also shares Ghost Rider will shot on film, and lensed by cinematographer Linus Sandgren (Dune: Part Three). In the meantime, the MCU’s Multiverse Saga will wrap up with VisionQuest (concluding on Disney+ on November 11), Avengers: Doomsday (in theaters December 18, the same day as Dune: Part Three), and Secret Wars (December 17, 2027). Its new era will kick off with the X-Men reboot, due out May 5, 2028.
