When DC released a bunch of October Bat-book covers the other day, it was quickly noticed that Starfire's costume had gotten much smaller, a natural move for the exhibitionist alien.
It was also noticed that part of the Red Hood had gotten bigger.
John Barber joins IDW as Senior Editor
Former Marvel editor John Barber has been named to the Senior Editor position at IDW, taking over their Hasbro licenses. Barber worked at Marvel as an editor for six years, and has a background in webcomics, which should fit in well with IDW's strong digital presence.
In addition, IDW named Tom Waltz as senior staff writer and Alonso Simon was named assistant editor.

It's been a year since comics writing legend Harvey Pekar passed away at the age of 70, but thanks to the amount of work he had in the pipeline, not only has his legacy lived on, but it's still growing. And friends are remembering.
Online Burn Notice comic gets 100K views
The USA Network and DC Comics recently launched a webcomic to tie in with the Season 5 premiere of Burn Notice. And readers seem to have liked it.
Cable network USA and DC Comics debuted Chapter 1 of its "Burn Notice" interactive graphic novel, "A New Day," alongside the show's Season 5 premiere on Thursday. To date, "A New Day" has scored more than 100,000 page views, according to the network.
Marvel announces New Stores initiative
With DC's New 52 changing the face of comics, and getting mostly positive reviews from retailers, it was time for Marvel to announce their OWN new initiative which is aimed at people who want to open new stores. Marvel will provide deep discounts and free trade paperbacks and access to Marvel's Retailer Resource Center.
The promotion also applies to existing accounts who want to open a new store.
It almost goes without saying that in a challenged retailing environment, opening new stores is of vital importance.

A few days ago The Beat's Shannon O'Leary alerted you to the existence of Derek Kirk Kim's new webseries, MYTHOMANIA, and now having watched it ourselves, it is SUPER AMAZING. Two episodes (or 9) now out tell the story of Andy Go, an aspiring indie cartoonists who lives in LA, gets rejected by publishers, hangs out with his friends arguing about Alan Moore, and hankers after a cool girl nerd cartoonist. DC announces October Bat-family books, two new miniseries
Okay so this is how it's going to go. Following on the heels of the New 52, DC is announcing its October books with a smatter of new miniseries and other extras. The Batbooks were revealed today with a new Huntress mini by Paul Levitz and a Penguin mini by Gregg Hurwitz..
In addition, as expected, often tardy writer/artist David Finch has been joined by Paul Jenkins and Jay Fabok on DETECTIVE COMICS #2. Graeme McMillan says this is the first DC book to crack, but we haven't seen all the #2s yet.
