Dynamite has found huge success with Gargoyles; critics and fans of the ongoing series have followed the Manhattan Clan’s adventures. Part of that journey has been their fun winter special issues. Dynamite Entertainment today announced the third in this delightful annual celebration: Gargoyles Winter Special 2026 #1, by co-writers Greg Weisman and Nate Cosby, who reunite once more with original Dynamite Gargoyles artist George Kambadais.
On the longest night of the year, in the darkest part of the night, danger lurks out in the snow, waiting to strike. But a Gargoyle beast named Bronx and his bull terrier friend, Lance, are going to stay up all night to protect the ones they care about most.
“I love having this tradition and working with Nate and George (and Bronx and Lance) to bring us a new story every year!” said franchise creator Greg Weisman.
The Gargoyles crew will take readers on an adorable parallel storyline where everyone’s favorite dog-like Gargoyle, Bronx, reunites with bull terrier Lance, whom he met back in Gargoyles Winter Special 2024 #1.
“What a joy to tell another snowy adventure starring Bronx and his best bull terrier buddy, Lance!,” added co-writer and editor Nate Cosby. “Lexington’s tagging along this time, and the hungry trio is on a desperate search for winter watermelon! Yes, you read that correctly.”
Gargoyles Winter Special 2026 #1 will be December 9th and will feature covers by Stephen Byrne (Buffy the Vampire Slayer), Kambadais, Drew Moss (Gargoyles: Dark Ages), and Domenico Carbone. To make this book a real stock stuffer, Dynamite will also sell Gargoyles Winter Special 2026 #1 Premium Mystery Bags, which will contain three limited editions of the issue, randomly selected from a range of variant covers exclusive to this title.
