Frank Miller remains consistent, disowns Netflix Elektra

7
Frank Miller is the Donald Trump of comics, replacing Alan Moore who used to be the Donald Trump of comics in that every little utterance of his was fodder for headlines and web traffic. Miller's been retired from public speaking for a while but the Dark Knight III promo process—and a series of appearances in foreign lands—has provided a fresh platform and ample ammo for SEO air strikes. But is this current comment any different from what Millar has said in the past?

Nice Art: Nick Sumida does Fargo fan art for the greatest moment in last...

0
It's no secret that Fargo Season 2 is better than Season 1, which was already great, and it's one of the best shows on TV even in this Golden Age. A tragic yet endearing mix of Midwestern pluck, human frailty, greed and the mysterious, Noah Hawley's exalted Coen Brothers fanfic has the properties that made the original movie so great and a magic all its own. And I predict all the amazing plot twists and characters - the inept yet driven Blumqists, Lou Solverson in his burgundy pants, Nick Offerman's eloquent drunk lawyer, the vengeful Gerhardt family, led by the unforgettable woman named Floyd, Hanzee the unstoppable hit man, and of course, Mike Milligan and the Kitchen Brothers—will provide fodder for fan art and even cosplay for a while. And Nick Sumida (Snaackies, Harvey Beaks) has kicked things off on Instagram.

New canon? Website attempts to list 100 Best Comics of the First Half of...

1
I've heard some pretty strong arguments against having any "canon" in comics, and I tend to agree. What canon there is is mostly defined by the strong tradition of comics strips to superheroes to undergrounds, as exemplified by the Masters of American Comics show of a decade ago. I think a few old farts still argue about the Comics Journal's Top 100 Comics of the Twentieth Century, but we've come a long way in just 15 years. These canons just aren't diverse enough to reflect where comics have gone in just a very short time.
