Zombies, amirite? Well, imagine an outbreak in your high school when all you are trying to do is get through your science class. In All of Us Are Dead, Hyosan High School is ground zero for a deadly virus that turns people into flesh-eating living dead.
Created by Joo Dong-Geun, the Webtoons comic series is the basis for the Netflix streaming show of the same name. What sets this story apart from other zombie tales is the setting. The students are typical students, making fun of their teachers, dreading homework, and just trying to make it through every subject in their day. When the virus takes hold, it moves rapidly through the school, and in only a few hours, the student body is trapped in the building while friends and teachers begin to turn into monsters.
The series plays off that fear of being stuck in a place with very few options and shambling zombies hunting you for your flesh. How can you escape? Can you even escape? On top of that, you can turn at any moment yourself. As if being a teenager isn’t hard enough…
