Another Marvel ALL NEW ALL DIFFERENT book, another FOC preview. But this time it’s Weirdworld by Mike Del Mundo who has become a stylist and artist to watch. Writer Sam Humphries is no slouch either.
Weirdworld is based on a series created by Doug Moench and Mike Ploog, but I guess they didn’t actually have any skin in the book and Ploog left during a work for hire contract dispute.
Resurrecting the title as a Scret Wars all new all different book allows Marvel to get in on the “Teen Girl goes to fantasy land,” bandwagon. Intriguingly, Crystal, the crystal warriors based on a toy, have also come back in this book, making it a real 80s nostalgia trip.
The smash-hit Secret Wars series is back! And just when you thought the journey was coming to an end. This December, book a trip to the strangest place in the entire Marvel Universe in the all-new WEIRDWORLD #1 – coming at you from blockbuster writer Sam Humphries (Legendary Star-Lord) and fan-favorite Weirdworld artist Mike Del Mundo! Ripped from the pages of Secret Wars comes a most dangerous destination – chock full of swords, sorcery, rocket launchers and all manner of oddities firmly planted in the All-New Marvel Universe!
Meet Becca, an ordinary teenage girl trapped in an extraordinary world. Stranded in Weirdworld and separated from all she knows, her mission is clear – GET HOME ALIVE! Easier said than done.
