Nextw eek AfterShock Comics will release We Live: Age of the Palladions #3. The third issue of the sci-fi/fantasy series comes from writers Inaki Miranda and Roy Miranda, artist Inaki Miranda, colorist Eva De La Cruz, and letterer Dave Sharpe. Today The Beat is pleased to present an exclusive four-page preview of the issue, which finds the series’ protagonists at a fork in the road.

Here’s how AfterShock describes We Live: Age of the Palladions #3:

A vision from Oracle starts to show its cards. Up in the skies, the storm does not appear to abate, falling upon everybody. Down below, the path of the hero begins to fade at every step. Nesbo sees how the lives that he took under his wings irrevocably slip through his fingers. Hototo and the reconnection team arrive at their mysterious destination; from this point on everything becomes uncertain territory that feels like moving sand. Meanwhile, Tala and Humbos journey to Megalopolis 9 has changed direction, and hands…

In a statement back when the series, a follow-up to the Miranda brothers’ first We Live series, was announced, co-writer Roy Miranda described the characters at the center of Age of the Palladions:

We have dedicated a lot of time to understand how the relationship between Tala and Hototo would develop after Hototo’s transformation. Their individual psychology and also the invisible string that bonds them to each other. We had to learn to look at the world through the lenses of two different realities. One being the perspective of the Palladions (especially in Megalopolis 9) and the other being the perspective of humans; and work them separately. This took us to discover new characters that have been essentials for tying this arc emotionally.  Through these new characters we have gone as far as we needed when exploring the limits of human behavior.

And of course… we have a little cool surprise with one of my favorite characters: Humbo.
