WarnerMedia announced the name and line-up of its new streaming service on Tuesday. HBO Max is slated to launch in spring 2020, per Variety, with more than 10,000 hours of content. In addition to exclusive streaming rights to Friends, which will leave Netflix next year, HBO Max will also be home to all episodes of The Fresh Prince of Bel AirPretty Little Liars, and any Warner Bros.-produced CW shows beginning with the fall 2019 season.

That includes Batwoman and Riverdale spin-off Katy Keene, among others. According to the report, the service “will combine content from HBO with a slate of originals and programming from Warner Bros., New Line, DC Entertainment, CNN, TNT, TBS, truTV, The CW, Turner Classic Movies, Cartoon Network, Adult Swim, Crunchyroll, Rooster Teeth, and Looney Tunes.

Additionally, Greg Berlanti signed an exclusive production deal to produce an initial four young-adult movies for the service, and Reese Witherspoon will produce at least two films under her Hello Sunshine banner.

“HBO Max will bring together the diverse riches of WarnerMedia to create programming and user experiences not seen before in a streaming platform,” Bob Greenblatt, chairman of WarnerMedia Entertainment and Direct-To-Consumer, said in a statement.

HBO Max will compete with Netflix, Hulu and Disney+, with the latter two controlled by Walt Disney Studios. WarnerMedia has yet to announce pricing, which will surely be a big factor of the service’s success.

The inclusion of DC Entertainment on the list of programming suggests that rumors of DC’s streaming service shutting down may be more than just rumors, but of course that’s just conjecture at this point.
