Police in Santa Ana, California, are investigating the theft of nearly $1 million in Pokémon, sports, and other trading cards from a FedEx delivery truck parked near the PSA office.
The thieves broke into the truck on Tuesday, Oct. 13, 2026, in the 1600 block of E. St. Andrew, taking two pallets, and a third was “disrupted”
“The estimated value at the time was $963,000; however, the exact value of what was stolen could not be determined until the remaining boxes were scanned,” the Santa Ana PD statement said.
In a statement, Collectors parent company of PSA said:
“We are aware of a theft involving a third-party shipping vehicle carrying PSA-graded items. We are working closely with law enforcement and the carrier as the investigation continues.“We have deactivated the certificates for the stolen items and notified marketplace partners so they can be on the lookout for rare and serialized items. Our customer service team has contacted affected customers directly and is arranging compensation based on fair market value. We understand the impact this has on collectors involved, many of whom see these cards as far more than a financial asset. Our team is focused on supporting them. We take this incident seriously, and we will continue working with law enforcement to hold those responsible accountable.”
According to The Athletic, thieves stole two pallets carrying an estimated 100 packages each from the truck, and an estimated 50 packages from a third pallet. Authorities are still determining the total number of cards taken; the packages were being shipped back to their owners before the theft. According to SAPD, the truck driver parked the vehicle near the PSA’s offices, leaving it unattended for 60 to 90 minutes, and found the lock broken when he returned.
“The pallets contained various trading cards, including, but not limited to, sports cards and Pokémon cards,” the SAPD said to The Athletic. “The exact value of the stolen items has not yet been determined, pending further investigation. The investigation remains ongoing. Anyone with information regarding this incident is encouraged to contact the Santa Ana Police Department.”

Scrutiny and questions about what was taken remain; online detectives have taken the initiative and created a list cataloging the serial numbers of the stolen cards. Among the missing are a 1995 Upper Deck 23K Gold Michael Jordan 50,000 Print Run, a 1999 c07 Roronoa Zoro PSA 10, and many other cards from various anime series, trading card games, and sports cards. X user Totugo posted that the c07 Roronoa Zoro card alone was worth 500K, so we can only expect the total value stolen to rise as the police investigation continues.
So far, no arrests have been made, and no stolen goods have been recovered.
