The CW has released a few teasers already for the upcoming “Elseworlds” crossover between the Arrowverse shows The Flash, Arrow, and Supergirl. Late yesterday they released an additional trailer, which gives us our first look at Batwoman in action, and provides a little bit of context for her place in the Arrowverse.
There’ve been mentions of Bruce Wayne and Gotham, and even sideways glances in the direction of Batman, within the Arrowverse in the past, most recently with Talia Al Ghul reappearing on this season of Arrow after a run-in with what she referred to as “an old foe in Gotham.” This teaser is the first explicit mention of the dark knight, though, and also provides a quick, shadowed look at a familiar purple-suited laughing man.
In addition to Ruby Rose as Batwoman, “Elseworlds” also promises the debut of Bitsie Tulloch as Lois Lane; the return of Supergirl‘s Superman, as played by Tyler Hoechlin; the first appearance of The Monitor, portrayed by LaMonica Garrett; and the return of John Wesley Shipp as TV’s original Flash.
The three-night “Elseworlds” crossover event begins on Sunday, December 9th on The CW.
