Two cartoons return without their creators: Jem and the Holograms and Boondocks
There was much rejoicing last week when it was announced 80s cartoon mainstay Jem and The Holograms is coming back as a live-action movie, with
the production crowd sourced in some cases. . The movie will be directed by Jon Chu who previously made both Step Up and GI Joe Retaliation, which is the perfect resume for a movie about a female rock band that has adventures.

SPACE poster by Tom Williams unveiled
S.P.A.C.E. (Small Press & Alternative Comics Expo) is yet another comics-related event in Columbus. This will be the 15th year for the show, making it one of the granddaddys of the indie "CAF" circuit and it claims to be "the midwest's longest running exhibition of small press, creator owned and art comics." This year it will be held April 14 and 15th at the Ramada Plaza Hotel and Conference Center in Columbus and sponsored by Back Porch Comics.

§ Zen Pencils is a website where a cartoonist named Gavin Aung Than takes famous speeches written by other folks and turns them into comics. It was the subject of a famous beatdown by Abhay Khosla who tagged it as vapid pap that stole other people's thoughts, and some other folks think it's just fine and signed it to a book deal.
