Dark Horse rolls out with a lineup of great exclusives for SDCC this year

The adult coloring book fad shows no signs of slowing down as pixel-addled adults seek solace in old fashioned hand-eye coordination. And Dark Horse is getting in on the act with a new line that debuts this fall. A previously announced Chuck Pahlaniuk coloring book will be joined by Avatar: The Last Airbender and Serenity will each get a coloring book with 45 pages of new artwork and thick paper that will stand up to the most punishing crayons.

Okay actually, we know this: Cryptocracy is a new book by Van Jenson and Pete woods coming out from Dark Horse in late June. It sounds like a juicy "secret society" comic dealing with The Nine Families, who manipulate whole societies from behind the scenes. When I first saw this promo, it reminded me of Matt Kindt who has a lengthy track record of these kinds of mysterious promos and spy-based work.

Speaking of comic books and comic book movies, we're guessing you haven't heard about this one: Alena, a Swedish film about a high school girl who gets transferred to a new school and gets bullied. Payback and lacrosse ensue, with perhaps a bit f supernatural horror. The film originated as made-for-TV movie but has been expanded for international release, a well received US debut at the Santa Barbara Film Festival.
