The activations at this year's SDCC have become more story-focused than ever, and when you're immersed in a story from FX's Legion, you can imagine you're in for a pretty trippy experience. Located on the lawn of the Hilton Bayfront, the Legion Mixed Reality Experience uses HoloLens, a headset developed by Microsoft that allows for augmented reality to overlay graphics and sound on your physical environment.

Last year, we reported that more than 60,000 people came to San Diego for SDCC without a badge. Staggering as that may seem, it's not hard to imagine given the impressive number of off-site events, installations, parties, and so on. We've rounded up some of the most prominent beyond-the-convention walls events at SDCC, but for a more complete listing, we recommend checking out this calendar created by our friends at The San Diego Comic-Con Unofficial Blog (many nights have upwards of 50 events, way more than we can list here!).

Sounds like FX will have a pretty extensive "activation" outside the Hilton. This area is reserved for carnivals, games, inflatable Homer SIimpsons and the like. This time it will have some of your favorite shows and a "silent disco" that involves headphones because...it would be too noisy otherwise? Seems to defeat the purpose but it is 2016.
