All week The Beat has offered exclusive Statix Press news leading up to San Diego Comic Con 2018. So it’s fitting that our final installment of Statix news gives you some exclusive information about the SDCC Statix Press panel scheduled for Thursday, July 19 from 2:30-3:30PM in Room 4. Titled Statix Press: Bringing the Best of the World’s Comics to a U.S. Audience, the panel will feature writer/artist Helge Vogt (Alisik), brand manager Chris Thompson (Statix Press), and buyer Terence Irvins (Kinokuniya Books) to “discuss the international comics scene and what the industry is like across Europe (and around the world).”

Our own Heidi MacDonald is moderating the panel, and according to Thompson, a “major new film project” will be announced there. Said Thompson:

We’re so excited to be shining an extra spotlight on Statix Press with our own dedicated SDCC panel this year. The line continues to grow in leaps and bounds and, aside from talking about upcoming titles like McCay, Salammbo and Emma G. Wildford, we’ll be announcing a major new film project as well. It all adds up to our biggest San Diego ever – especially for our fresh new imprint Statix Press!”

Following the panel, there will be a signing with Vogt of her book Alisik from 4-5PM at the Titan Comics Booth 5537.

If you’d like to catch up on the other Statix exclusive previews we published this week, here’s a round-up:
