Resident Alien, the sci-fi noir series created by writer Peter Hogan and artist/letterer Steve Parkhouse, wrapped its sixth series last year, and the second season of the television adaptation of the series is nearing its conclusion later this month. Now those who want to get caught up on the comics will have an easier time doing so, as Dark Horse will publish a second paperback omnibus collection of Resident Alien next Spring.

Here’s how Dark Horse describes Resident Alien Omnibus Volume 2:

A stranded alien explorer—hiding in plain sight—has been posing as a doctor and solving crimes in the small town of Patience, Washington. After Harry accidentally reveals himself to investigators who are on his trail, a mysterious arsonist and a stubborn federal agent arrive in town to heat things up! The local sheriff must decide if he’ll remain loyal to his inquisitive friend Harry, and nurse Asta finally realizes the danger she and Harry are both in.

Resident Alien Omnibus Volume 2 will include the fourth, fifth, and sixth storylines in the series – The Man With No NameAn Alien In New York, and Your Ride’s Here – as well as a short story from this year’s Dark Horse Free Comic Book Day offering.

A previous volume collecting the first three Resident Alien storylines was released in 2020.

Debuting in 2012, Resident Alien follows Harry Vanderspiegle, an alien living in the small town of Patience, WA. Disguised as the town’s doctor, Harry is also an amateur detective, and each storyline in the series follows Harry (typically assisted by his nurse, Asta) helping to solve a mystery in the town while maintaining his own secret. The series is a clever, heartfelt blend of science fiction and mystery elements, and it’s a joy to read.

With a cover price of $29.99, the softcover Resident Alien Omnibus Volume 2 will arrive in bookstores on Tuesday, May 16th, 2023, and in comic shops the next day, on Wednesday, May 17th.
