Official press release below:

Today Skybound and Image Comics, in collaboration with leading toy and game company Hasbro, revealed an impressive lineup of variant covers and interior pages for TRANSFORMERS #7, which kicks off the series’ second story arc. Artist Jorge Corona (Middlewest) joins writer Daniel Warren Johnson (Extremity, Do a Powerbomb) and colorist Mike Spicer (Stillwater, Murder Falcon) to begin the Energon Universe story that will have everyone talking!

Who will lead the Decepticons? After last issue’s shocking ending, Starscream and Soundwave battle for leadership – and the result will change the Decepticons forever. And the Autobots learn they may have more allies than they imagined…

In addition to the main cover by Daniel Warren Johnson and Mike Spicer, the stacked list of variant covers for TRANSFORMERS #7 includes a cover B by new series artist Jorge Corona & Spicer, a 1:10 incentive variant beginning a new connecting cover series by Karen S. Darboe (Bloodline: Daughter of Blade), a 1:25 incentive variant by Caspar Wijngaard (Home Sick Pilots), a 1:50 incentive variant by Taurin Clarke (Black Panther), and a 1:100 incentive variant by Mike Del Mundo (Avengers).

The Energon Universe officially began last summer with the surprise first appearance of iconic TRANSFORMERS character Jetfire in Void Rivals #1, introducing the historic new collaboration between Hasbro and Skybound, with TRANSFORMERS and G.I. JOE comics finding a new home with the publisher. The Energon Universe recently expanded with the launch of Duke, a limited series from Joshua Williamson (DC’s Superman, Dark Ride), Tom Reilly (The Thing) and Jordie Bellaire (W0rldtr33) and Cobra Commander from Joshua Williamson, Andrea Milana (Impact Winter: Rook) and Annalisa Leoni (Oblivion Song). Fans should expect can’t-miss moments from every issue of the Energon Universe, as secrets are unveiled along the path to answering the BIG questions.

TRANSFORMERS #7 (Lunar Codes Below | $3.99) will be available at comic book shops and digital platforms including Amazon Kindle, Apple Books, comiXology, and Google Play on Wednesday, April 10, 2024.

  1. This is not the first GI Joe and Transformer hybrid universe comic (There have been so many that came before) but the Energon Universe is the best version I have read in a long time. If you are not reading this, then you should check it out….
