Dark Horse Comics has released a preview of Invisible Kingdom #1. The new monthly series is written by G. Willow Wilson (Ms. Marvel, Wonder Woman) and illustrated by Christian Ward (Ody-C, Black Bolt). Here’s how the publisher describes the series:
Set in a far-flung star system, this new epic sci-fi monthly saga tells the tale of two women–a young religious acolyte and a hard-bitten freighter pilot–who separately uncover a vast conspiracy between the leader of the system’s dominant religion and the mega-corporation that controls society. On the run from reprisals on both sides, this unlikely pair of rebels risk plunging the world into anarchy if they reveal the truth.
But when your beliefs betray you, what choice is there left?
Wilson has a great knack for crafting relatable, human characters in the middle of insane situations, and Ward’s visuals in the preview pages are as dazzling as ever. Check out the first two pages for the first issue, as well as the covers to issues #1 and #2, below. Invisible Kingdom #1 is due in stores on March 20th.
