Spider-Man has had a huge year, with his ongoing comic reaching a landmark issue #1000 and his latest movie adventure, Spider-Man: Brand New Day, smashing box office records left and right. During today’s “The Spider-Web” panel at New York Comic Con, Marvel Comics revealed to fans what’s next for their favorite wall-crawler, including a new anthology series and new solo titles for fan-favorite characters from across the Spider-Verse.

The first announcement of the panel was the anthology series, titled Marvel SFX Thwip!. The five-issue series will feature stories that spotlight the iconic sound effect of Spider-Man’s webbing. Here’s info on the first issue, due out in January:

One of comics’ best innovations is the visual sound effect, and the House of Ideas is celebrating the best of all SFX with our new anthology THWIP! Some of comics’ best creators alongside luminaries from outside the field bring their Thwipiest stories to bear! Future issues feature Erik Larsen, Simone De Meo and so many more!

It sounds like this is the first in a series of Marvel SFX miniseries, so presumably future installments will spotlight other iconic sounds like Snikt (Wolverine), Bamf (Nightcrawler), and…uh, Blam (The Punisher) I guess? If you can think of other noteworthy Marvel sounds, sound off in the comments!

The panel next previewed January-shipping issues of Amazing Spider-Man, Spectacular Spider-Man, and Friendly Neighborhood Mary Jane, as well as an interior preview for December’s Mary Jane #2 with artwork by Phil Noto:

Moving into more new series announcements, the panel unveiled a new Spider-Punk ongoing series from writer Cody Ziglar and artist Justin Mason.

Here’s how Marvel describes the first issue, which will arrive in January with a cover by Taurin Clarke:

SPIDER-PUNK’S GOING SOLO! The Spider-Band is MISSING, and Hobie Brown’s in L.A. to unravel the mystery of what happened to his friends. But he’ll have to confront his inner demons along the way, and those of a new adversary — MZ. NEGATIVE! And if that weren’t enough, she’s teamed up with SCORPION to be the ultimate thorn in Hobie’s side… Cody Ziglar and Justin Mason reunite AGAIN to make even more musical magic with your favorite rock ’n’ roll Spider-fam!

Next the panel revealed an interior preview of Miles Morales: Spider-Man #3 with art by Nico Leon. The issue is due out next month.

The other new series announcement was for Spider-Man Noir. The Amazon Prime series may be over, but his comic book adventures will never end! The series is written by Alex Segura (no stranger to the hardboiled noir genre) and illustrated by Farid Karami. Here’s a description for the first issue, out in February with a cover by Stephen Mooney:

Just as things seem to be going his way for the first time in a long time, a deadly new femme fatale threatens to engulf Peter Parker’s life in total darkness.

Marvel rounded out the Spider-Man panel with information on the January-shipping Venom #4, by writer Charles Soule, artist Tommaso Bianchi, and cover artist Davide Paratore:

LOVE LIES BLEEDING! When Venom’s new lady love, Yelena Belova, has a mission go sideways, we take a step back and learn how this unlikely pair came to be! Meanwhile, the sinister forces moving to take Alphabet City gain in strength under Venom’s nose!

And if all that wasn’t enough, there was one final tease, a Ryan Stegman-drawn promo image for Crisis of Faith, an upcoming crossover between Amazing Spider-Man and Miles Morales: Spider-Man. Written by regular series scribes Joe Kelly and Bryan Edward Hill, the crossover will kick off in April 2027.

Stay tuned to The Beat for more news from NYCC ’26.
