Between Charlie Cox‘s “surprise” cameo appearance in Spider-Man: No Way Home and the migration of the Netflix Marvel shows to Disney+, it seemed a new Daredevil project from Marvel Studios was inevitable. In fact, Marvel Studios head honcho pretty much confirmed it right before No Way Home’s theatrical release. Courtesy of a Variety exclusive, a new Disney+ Daredevil series is reportedly moving with Matt Corman and Chris Ord se to write and executive produce.

Past work from Corman and Ord include co-creating the USA Network series Cover Affairs and serving as executive producers and co-showrunners on the NBC drama shows The Enemy Within and The Brave as well as The CW series Containment.

In the same month Cox made his MCU debut reprising his role as the Man without Fear, actor Vincent D’Onofrio also returned as Wilson Fisk a.k.a. Kingpin towards the end of the Hawkeye series. In the final episode, Maya Lopez (Alaqua Cox) Fisk who murdered his father and raised Maya presumably shoots him since the camera pans away and we hear a gunshot. This being superheroes and considering this exact moment happened in the comics where Fisk survived but lost his eyesight, it’s really hard to believe that Marvel Studios would kill off the character so quickly.

Daredevil series

Though details are scarce and this could very well be a soft reboot, Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofri are probably a given. It remains to be seen whether other actors from the Netflix series such as Foggy Elden Henson and Deborah Ann Woll will be returning as Foggy Nelson and Karen Page respectively. Moreover, there is also the issue of whether or not the entire series is still canon or if the show creators will be selective.

The Echo series starring Alaqua Cox once again as the titular hero is currently in production. Could it be possible that we’ll see Cox appear in order to set up the upcoming Daredevil Disney+ series?

Likewise, we may also witness Krysten Ritter and Mike Colter debuting in the MCU as Jessica Jones and Luke Cage may also be on the table? I would say Finn Jones coming back as Iron Fist is unlikely, but after the Illuminati scene in the Multiverse of Madness anything is possible at this point!
