How many times will I make this joke when writing about Dynamite’s Mighty Mouse comic?

As we told you previously, Dynamite is launching a new MIghty Mouse comics, which, somewhat in the spirit of DC’s successful Hanna Barbera relaunch, is taking a very meta look at this old cartoon character. The story, written by Sholly Fisch with art by Igor Lima, finds Mighty Mouse trapped in a strange dimension where none of the laws of physics he’s known work. That would be our world, and Mighty Mouse must prove he exists and bring some of the light from his dimension to ours. And it’s got an Alex Ross cover so you know this is serious business!
Mighty Mouse debuted in a short actually called “Mouse of Tomorrow” )as a nod to Superman) in 1942 as part of the TerryToons studio and enjoyed a somewhat on the nose career into the 50s. He was successfully reimagined in the 80s by innovative animator Ralph Bakshi (Fritz the Cat, Lord of the Rings) who worked at TerryToons in his early days. Since then rights disputes have kept him out of the spotlight. So consider this a comeback bid.
