When it was announced in 2015 that Dark Horse would be bringing out the works of Moebius in new English editions, it was awesome news. And since the deal took years to put together, no one expected them to come out overnight. But clearly the volumes are coming out slowly, but in spectacular fashion.

The first one, The World of Edena, came out in November. And the second volume has just been announced for October. So one a year! We will all be old and grey before this project finishes!

Moebius Library: The Art of Edena continues the Edena story line,  with four Edena-related short stories and a section of art.

This celebration of the imagery and creative enthusiasm Moebius held for his Edena universe includes the short stories “Seeing Naples,” “Another Planet,” “The Repairmen,” and “Dying to See Naples,” as Moebius explores his imagination with two of his favorite characters, Stel and Atan.

Created in close collaboration with Moebius Production in France, Moebius Library: The Art of Edena is a comprehensive collection of Edena material featuring artwork that has never before been seen by American readers. A beautiful, full-color 8 x 10–inch hardcover, The Art of Edena features Moebius’s timeless illustrations with science-fiction stories translated to English for this publication.

The endless imagination and flawless linework of Moebius’s work make it him one of the all-time great cartoonists and having this material in English in beautiful new editions is a treat, even if it is slow. NOw I know what you[‘re thinking, “Arzach! Arsach! Arzach!” and it’s true that may be years off, but you can read it on Comixology right now, although it’s in French. YOU can still find The Incal from the Humanoids editions from a few years back  but at sometimes increasing prices. Geez, I hope i saved my copies!

You can preorder a copy at Amazon, DarkHorse.com, Things From Another World, and other online retailers. OR go pre-order a copy at your local Comics Shop!

  1. Really looking forward to this. The first book in the Library was beautifully produced (aside from the artwork which was amazing).

  2. THE INCAL is still in print from Humanoids — they constantly have to go back to press on it, and there are sometimes weeks-long shortages, but I just reordered copies a few weeks ago….
