Marvel announced a ton of books this morning. The rumored second Iron Man ongoing just wasn’t enough for the publisher it seems — they also included a new take on the Punisher and ongoings for three obscure heroes; Hyperion, Nighthawk and an X-Man?
First up, the publisher debuted a solo ongoing series for Hyperion, a character that Jonathan Hickman recently spent some time with in his Avengers series. The new ongoing is written by Chuck Wendig with art from Nik Virella. Newsarama broke the story featuring a cover from Emanuela Lupacchino.
The next comic is a familiar one: Nighthawk is getting an ongoing — a title that is a little more out of left field than the other titles mentioned on this list — but one that we are still excited for. Cyborg writer David Walker is writing the upcoming comic book. The character is a part of Squadron Supreme, giving the comic book a little more context in the full Marvel Universe. The series has no artist attached, and CBR announced the comic this morning.
Writer and musician Max Bemis (Evil Empire) and artist Michael Walsh (Secret Avengers) are telling a digital-first story about the “Worst X-Man Ever.” The comic is coming to digital devices in December, with a print version shipping in February. The comic features a brand new X-Men named Bailey Hoskins and takes place in a different incarnation of the complicated X-continuity.
