Though comic book creator Dave Stevens first debuted the character the Rocketeer in the pages of Pacific Comics in 1982, it’s fair to say that the majority of folks know the pulp hero best through the eponymous 1991 Disney film from director Joe Johnston. With this year marking the 35th anniversary of the beloved Rocketeer film, IDW Publishing has announced a partnership with Official Cellar to release Rocketeer American Whiskey, available exclusively direct-to-consumer at Official Cellar! This limited edition bourbon includes two offerings, hi-rye and wheated in a 750mL bottle at 43% ABV (86 proof).

According to the official press release, “fans and whiskey enthusiasts can pick up a limited release of Rocketeer American Whiskey: Wheated Bourbon priced at $65, while signed bottles—autographed by Billy Campbell, who played stunt pilot Cliff Secord in the 1991 film—are available for $125. The Hi-Rye Bourbon is offered at $55, with signed editions priced at $115.”

This isn’t the first time IDW has ventured outside the publishing sphere and into the realm of food. Readers may recall that last year the publisher collaborated with Jade City Foods to produce a collection of hot sauces based on the critically acclaimed comic series Beneath the Trees Where Nobody Sees.
