Ash is on a soul-searching road trip to Texas in search of a living, breathing Elvis Presley. The rock ‘n’ roll legend may also have vanquished a mummy. In Army of Darkness/Bubba Ho-Tep, expect a series of universe-spanning events that include an Elvis jumpsuit with special time-travel abilities, a trip to ‘70s Vegas, and the reveal of an evil new Book of the Dead, the Necronomicon Ho-Tep. Ash may have also met his match when he encounters a 4,000 year old, foul mouthed, soul sucking mummy, and Elvis may be his only hope.

Written by Scott Duvall (They Called Us Enemy, Heavy Metal) and with art by Vincenzo Federici (Grimm Fairy Tales), the 104-page trade paperback collects the exciting miniseries in one tome. It also puts two of Bruce Campbell’s most infamous characters face-to-face. Campbell is best known for playing Ash in the Evil Dead film series. The actor also played Elvis in 2002’s Bubba Ho-Tep.

Colorist Michele Monte and letterer Taylor Esposito (Bettie Page, Atomahawk) complete the creative team. The trade also features a cover by Diego Galindo and will be available at your local comic shop this Wednesday September 4. Head over to Dynamite’s website to order a copy.

The Beat received an exclusive preview of the entire first chapter of Army of Darkness/Bubba Ho-Tep ahead of the release. Read it here!
