Dynamite and Warner Bros. Discovery Global Consumer Products announced yesterday a big new companion series for the smash-hit ThunderCats mythos, ThunderCats: Cheetara. Soo Lee (Carmilla: The First Vampire) and artist Domenico Carbone lead the series debuting this July.

“There are some very cool things about Cheetara that have been overlooked in the original cartoon, things that I really want to make the center of her story,” said Lee. “She’s also iconic and very strong, it makes sense she gets her own series. It’s a look into one of the most important supporting characters.”
ThunderCats flagship series by Declan Shalvey and Drew Moss has been feeling the love from fans. For the new title spotlighting Cheetara, Lee has been following the main book and collaborating with Shalvey, alongside binging the original show and fandom resources for her new series. It is, however, a separate series that fans can jump right into.
Lee also contributes a cover along with Sozomaika, Lesley “Leirix” Li, Rebeca Puebla, and Edwin Galmon.
ThunderCats: Cheetara #1 will be available for preorder in May and is slated for release in July. It will also be available for individual customer purchase through digital platforms courtesy of Comixology, Kindle, iBooks, Google Play, Dynamite Digital, ComicsPlus, and more.
