All of which follows is readily and publicly available online. (Until someone plugs all of the leaks.)
I have not used any confidential sources. The original catalog citations which I quote below (with embedded URLs) are not hidden or behind a paywall at Edelweiss.
Further information was all found by Google searches, and again, quotes information which is not hidden from view.
I have not spoken with anyone at DC Entertainment or its subsidiaries, Scholastic Corporation, Msrs. Fridolfs or Nguyen, or anyone.
None of what follows is confidential. I scratched an itch, using my Web-Fu powers of online synchronicity, and discovered something exciting. Which I feel many others will also find exciting, so I’m sharing. Enjoy.
As I was editing the list of DC Comics titles for early 2016, I remembered… I need to see that the licensed publishers have planned!

This. But the Google results say:
Study Hall of Justice (DC Comics: Secret Hero Society, Book …
If you search Study Hall of Justice (DC Comics: Secret Hero Society, Book … you discover…
About 5,890,000 results
!!!
If I click on all of the links from the first page, most have “untitled” the book. Scholastic’s link returns a “no results” page.
Amazon does have a nice page for “DEREK FRIDOLFS”, who is best known for creating “Batman: Li’l Gotham” (or as I like to call it: “The Short Halloween”) with… Dustin Nguyen! I’m on the right track!

Oh. MY.
I searched for “Secret Hero Society” DC and got… 788 results. That seems about right for something not widely publicized.

About This Book
Being the new kid at school is tough, especially when your school is called Doomvale Academy and your name is Bruce Wayne. There’s a gang of jokers roaming the halls, a muscle-headed kid named Bane wants to beat you up, and your headmaster Hugo Strange seems really, well, strange.
This inventive novel follows young Bruce Wayne and his friends Clark (Superman) and Diana (Wonder Woman) as they start a Junior Detective Agency to investigate their teachers and find out what’s going on behind closed doors at Doomvale Academy, all before recess.
This all-new story presents a twist on the idea of junior sleuths, using comics, journal entries, and doodles to reimagine Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman as three students in the same school. They’ll try their best to solve their case, but just because you’re faster than a speeding bullet or more powerful than a locomotive, it doesn’t mean you get to stay up past eleven.
Dustin Nguyen
Okay… I’m grinning like a fool! I! CAN! NOT! WAIT! to read this! Yeah… it’s the old “They fight crime!” trope. But short of a young Lois Lane, Army brat pre-teen investigative journalist, this… this is freaking BRILLIANT.
Wait… “Media Tie-In“? Oh… I hope that means television! A ongoing cartoon series on Cartoon Network? While DC is beating the crapola out of Marvel in Prime Time, Disney does a much better job with animated series, like Web Warriors and Star Wars: Rebels.
What? You want to see pics? Geeze… you guys… but yeah, I do too! Let’s see what I can find…
Nope. Nada. Zilch. If you search “secret hero society” you get either similar titles, or thumbnails of the creators previous work.
The same happens for “study hall of justice”.
I guess we’ll have to wait for the official announcement.
Meanwhile, there’s Supergirl meeting super Girl Scouts, (who previously met with the President).
Also, DC Super Hero Girls will launch this fall.
Did I mention that I’m a Cool Uncle with a super-smart First Grade niece who was already reading chapter books in kindergarten?
Yeah… I am totally gonna be the first in line to buy all of this stuff! (Well, the first ADULT. I’ll let any girls cut in front of me. You do not want to suffer the wrath of little girls.)
Hey… DC Licensing… I know you’re reading this.
- Supergirl: Cosmic Adventures in the [ordinal] Grade Landry and Walker have outlined this series all the way through the Twelfth Grade. I hope you give this title some push during the upcoming TV series. It’s a great take on the character!
- Ariella Kent Yes, another Supergirl, one who is six-years-old. Most fans remember her from Supergirl #1,000,000. Is Peter David available?
- Li’l Leaguers Seen in Superman/Batman #51-52. So garsh darn cute! Also very cheerful and optimistic! Maybe start with a simple video game app…
- Super Pets comics DC, Capstone has published 24 Super Pets chapter books, plus a character encyclopedia! How about an original graphic novel, aimed at libraries and book fairs?
Torsten—
Let me second the call for sequels to Supergirl Adventures in the 8th Grade. Until it went out of print earlier this year, it was a best seller here, in the league of Tiny Titans and Teen Titans Go! and Batman Adventures.
New printing needed… NOW!
